In this tutorial, I’ll show you the basics of how to use Evernote, introduce you to the Web Clipper and its wonders, and help you master the search functions that’ll let you find anything in your Evernote, no matter how unorganized you are. And it does all that from any of your devices, for free, so you’ll truly never forget anything. The magic of Evernote is that it’s an app where you can add everything-from typed-in notes to scanned documents to photos of a restaurant menu-in one unorganized mess, and it can still make sense of the madness and let you find anything you’ve ever added in seconds. The rest of us unorganized people would still be unorganized, and still wouldn’t be taking notes. If it was only an app where you could type in notes, the most organized among us would be using it to write the details of their lives and works, but that’d be it. And yet, being a notebook app doesn’t even begin to explain its popularity. It’s nearly synonymous with digital notes. Spending time and seeing the world through my kids’ eyes, it’s just so rewarding and meaningful.Evernote’s perhaps the most well-known digital notebook app ever made. My daughter, in particular, the stuff she comes up with sometimes is incredible. Or we try to hike as a family about two to three times a month.

Maybe we’ll all go to the club for a swim. Saturday is the thing that’s closest thing to sacrosanct. I don’t get home in time for dinner on a regular basis. The truth is that it’s not easy balancing work with family. I do the garden partly because I want to know what I’m eating. I like to spend time out there on the weekends, and try to corral one of my kids to join me, though I bat about 50 percent. We’re constantly content twitching between apps and topics. Content switching is one of the reasons we feel overwhelmed and maybe not as productive. So if Monday is themed for business matters, and Thursday is more for recruiting, everyone knows. It helps me and the people on my team minimize the content switching that goes on. If I’m not getting exercise and seven hours of sleep, I’m not as good, so I view it as essential. It feels good, and the results are palpable. For example, I enjoy the act of staying fit.

This guy Tony Schwartz wrote a book that said: Time is a finite resource and energy is renewable. life - board calls, meetings, traveling and trying to be there for your family - you need a system.

I used to have a more organic approach, and my system just broke.

I try to wait until I get to the office before I’ll crack that open. I write down the three things I have to accomplish the next day. I have a tomorrow list that I make the night before. I’ve experimented with intermittent fasting, but that’s become like Allbirds shoes in the Valley - so much a stereotype that I don’t even want to mention it. As my metabolism has slowed, I find what I eat has become far more impactful than my exercise routine. Usually for me that’s a banana or an avocado. For the record, I started wearing them two years ago before they were cool. I do love Allbirds, although they’ve become a bit of a meme in the Valley. Typically I’m in jeans and a button down for three days, and for the other two, I’m in a Nike running shirt or an Evernote tee. Then when I moved to the Valley, it’s decidedly more casual. I used to be into the latest and greatest. I use the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Cleanser and then the Cerave moisturizer with SPF I have very sensitive Scottish-Irish skin. I found it, like almost all my grooming products, on Amazon. I use this toner after shaving called Beauty by Earth facial toner. I’ve come across this amazing shave cream called Cremo. There’s a steam room there, and I love to do a short steam. If I’m at the gym, I use whatever is in the pump dispenser.
